Manuscript of a letter by Voltaire, in the hand of Jean-Louis Wagniere, Voltaire's secretary. Addressed to the clockmaker Jean-Antoine Lépine; offers to lodge Lépine's son and his pupils at Ferney, where watchmakers and other craftsmen from Geneva and elsewhere had taken refuge under Voltaire's patronage. Dated at head of text: "A Ferney, par Lyon et Versoy, le 4 7bre 1772." Signed (p. [2]): Voltaire. Address reads: "A Monsieur de L'Épine, horloger du roi, place Dauphine, a Paris."
